Lake Road subway artwork.
The grand opening of a brand new public artwork in the pedestrian subway leading to the Foreshore took place on Wednesday 27th June. The picture shows Tiler Keith and Tiler's assistant Michelle hard at work getting ready for the big day!

The artwork is a brand new floor to ceiling ceramics mural designed and constructed by artist Penny Hampson, in partnership with year 10 pupils from Keswick School, designed to reflect aspects of the view over Derwentwater from the Foreshore. Pupils drew and painted all of the pictures on the mural, and hand made the tactile tiles which are very popular with young children in particular.
